LOL. I see what you did there.
There is an element here on Free Republic, which tends to focus on how much they dislike the person noted in a story, rather than discussion of the issue being discussed.
So This Thread is a good example of that. Rather than discussing legislation which would prevent illegal aliens from voting in DC, many are talking about how much they hate Marjorie Taylor Green.
The only things that will prevent illegals from voting are draconian civil and criminal penalties for vote fraud that are enforced.
And audits.
We aren’t gonna either from this Congress.
And the issue here is ensuring honest elections. That's something everybody on FR used to favor ... vigorously.
Getting any decent bill past the 'tards in the Senate and the 'tard in the White House is a long shot. We all know that. That doesn't mean bills should not be introduced. It does not mean the issue should not be discussed. And it does not mean that the person who introduced the bill, knowing it has no chance in the Senate or the White House, is acting in bad faith.
If nothing else, I'd like to see Presidential candidates comment on bills like this. Something like "I notice that Rep. Jones has introduced this bill. When I am President, I will gladly sign/veto such a bill should Congress pass it."
