“BTW: There is no GOP without Trump. Kiss it goodbye. Like the Whigs.”

the Trumpers are the dumbest voting bloc in the history of this country

the guy is old and morally bankrupt. The GOP is not dead when this old loser is gone.

So sick of his nonsense about liking those not caught. Sucking up to Cuomo, Fauci and Newsome

his supporters can go back to the democrats where Trump came from

“Months?? Truth is you’re FOS.”

Yes. Deny it and I will post your quotes from May calling DeSantis two-faced.

Don’t dance on the grave of Trump or MAGA yet, Bushie..

Trump was birthed because of your legacy of Bush,Dole,Bush McCain,Romney as Presidential timber..

Your R party has ownership in the swamp, too.

And you expected him to do exactly what?
Concede to Trump and drop out of the race?
Stop campaigning until the matter is settled in court?
Posting this was just an excuse to call DeSantis names. Typical Ad Hominem attack when the attacker has no substance. That’s how Democrats work.

Well said. More doublespeak from a professional politician. I could understand if younger voters haven’t caught onto it yet. But for the many posters here who have been through 5 or more election cycles and still haven’t figured it out? I don’t know what to say. They’ve learned nothing.

I don’t care for DeSantis.
But I see nothing wrong in his tweet.

“the cult of satan would have a guy that sleeps with porn stars pretending to be a conservative.”

He can pretend to be conservative until the cows come home. He can even sleep with the effing cows if he wants to. As long as he can fix the borders, fix the economy, fix the oil/gas crisis, etc., then I’m comfortable with that kind of pretending.

Conservative is as conservative does.

“Trump was very good president, but his naïveté about what the Democrats have become (Rush talked about this all the time) and his carelessness about protecting himself from them looks like it’s going to get him thrown into prison right in the middle of campaign season.”

Trump understood it better than Rush ever did. Trump understood that RINO’s are the enemy every bit as much as the Democrats. Rush never understood that. At any rate, understanding the problem is one thing, fixing it another. One man facing a federal bureaucracy over 2 million strong with entrenched, corrupt gatekeepers positioned throughout is not an easy task.

“Nothing is going to ever change unless we can at least capture the presidency again. Maybe not even then, but it’s the only shot we’ve got to clean out the DOJ.”

The problem is, when you talk of capturing the presidency again, you’re including people like DeSantis who are never going to fix a thing because they’re part of the club. Capturing the presidency with another controlled opposition RINO isn’t capturing the presidency at all. It’s surrendering it.

I don’t hate him but he ain’t Trump

And I detest who’s behind him

Most disconcerting is that the Republican establishment is fine with this disenfranchising us

And he still won’t acknowledge the stolen election. This guy is as deep state as it gets. Is he just naive and being misled and used, or is he all in? I don’t know that it makes that much of a difference. The bottom line is the same.

I won't ever be supporting someone like that, I don't care what they claim they will do, or if they actually ever do it either.

Conservative is as conservative does.

Evil is as evil does.

DeSantis called out the unfairness and hypocrisy of the Trump indictment, as he should have.

As another poster pointed out, the unfairness that DeSantis was referring to was not the unfairness of Trump being indicted but the unfairness of Trump being indicted when Hillary Clinton and Hunter Biden haven’t been. That’s the response of a lawyer/politician.

Well, that’s true. This is his last real chance at the nomination, so you won’t be fooled again whether or not he’s locked up and decides to run again.

And he still won’t acknowledge the stolen election.

DeSantis position on the 2020 election has mirrored mine, and therefore likely many others.

Immediately after the election, DeSantis had concerns about the results, and supported Trump in being declared the winner.

But over time, after Trump was unable to ever come up with any concrete evidence, then disappeared for a year on Jan 7 instead of continuing the investigation and fight, it's become more unclear of what may have happened. Even unclear if Trump wants it investigated, since it's a good talking point and fundraiser for him, as is.

Since then, almost no one championing Trump's claims that 2020 was stolen has won a major election. The issue appears to be a loser, and no concrete evidence has ever emerged.

Oh sure there's lots of circumstantial evidence, but even Trump himself can't seem to tie it together. Or doesn't want to. Don't blame others for Trump's own failure to prove his own case. Especially when it seems to be the kiss of death for anyone who brings it up.

DeSantis addressed Trump’s indictment perfectly.

The idea that he can’t mention his own intentions to deal with the weaponization of the federal government is stupid, considering he’s running to be president.

He is the selected Republican-Progressive who will run against Newsom and lose by *0 Million Votes. Polls close at 7 and Fox news will call it for Newsom at 7:10. DeSantis will give a nice speech. And all the left will be thankful Trump is dead. But, with him gone—so is American Democracy. It will be a hollow victory for the Progressives.
