Trump was naïve when he started in politics. He assumed that people in DC were basically good and patriotic. I guarantee you he isn't naive any more................
If I lived in if I lived in abject poverty
Can’t be to much abject poverty if the can pay for air fair from all over the world to cross the border ever notice the clothes they have on they ain’t Goodwill stuff.
Only siren they heard was Biden’s NO Rules
I'll agree that he's not as naive anymore.
For example, Trump is still at the point (imo) where he thinks that cutting funding for some federal regulatory agency is the prudent thing to do from a business perspective, but not necessarily having a grip on the problem the agency has no constitutional justification to exist in the first place, the agency therefore stealing and exercising state powers.
There was a reason President Truman (D-MO) said, “If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog!”.....................
Everything is broken. Nothing is working the way is was designed to operate and I think that there is some agenda to this happening.
What is fleeing California are businesses and productive tax payers. What is moving into California has 1/2 the earnings of those fleeing. This is not sustainable. 1% of wage earners pay 40-50% of all state taxes - and this base is fleeing as well - going to states that don’t have state taxes.
That, along with the black population demanding $800 billion for reparations in a non-slave state that explicitly forbade slavery in its constitution.
I suspect Gov. Newsom will ride all of this out and retire to Montana where he has family and a home.
