King George III, born in England, ruled during the American Revolution was of German parentage.
Princess Diana was from the House of Tudor, a native British line and some think she was more blue-blooded than anyone in the Windsor line. Queen Elizabeth basically arranged her marriage to Charles.
Wonder if William will tinker with the family name when he becomes king. It evidently is not a problem to change the name.
