We should do the same thing with all our social service programs: “Here, you own this house now. You have a real stake in the future of your community.”

I have known of people who were given darling homes for very little, and they turned around and sold it for more money. I’m not sure that is particularly fair.

Trump has put forward A LOT of policies. I wonder which ones other candidates disagree with. It all seems like they run on being nice and not being Trump

He pretty clearly said work with the states. I don’t see it as bad. America will be great again whe you don’t have to walk through human feces in what were incredible cities of the past

I think back to the speech Eisenhower gave about the cost of one B52 being able to build 30 schools.

But talk for a minute about shrinking the defense budget and everyone howls.

Trump isn’t talking about that. No one talks about that.

“He pretty clearly said work with the states.”

Using what extended federal authority or what expanded uses of present federal authority????

If Presidents just stuck to truly federal issues, and had budgets that reflected that, every state would be better off minus all the strings that come with federal meddling and “aid”.

The next president needs to secure the southern border and there is no greater national immediate domestic need than that. A president may comment on how certain states are mishandling what is in their responsibility to handle, but we need to reverse the many decades of the growth of the federal government in domestic affairs, not continue anything as is or add to anything that is already being done.

The poorly run states will continue to lose people. That’s tough, but that is not a federal issue, because 99% of what ails them is not derived from federal policies.

Unfortunately running on cutting the “defense” budget would kill any republicans chances of being elected.

DeSantis is dangerously deranged with TDS. That’s why I call him Ron Derangement.

"Most of it is not federal issues and we do not need anther Lyndon Johnson telling us HIS federal government will “solve” problems that rightly belong handled by the states; which is entirely how the “deep state” has gotten so big and powerful - you give than an inch and theiy’ll take a mile."

I agree 100%.

Patriots need to get ill-advised Trump up to speed on unconstitutional federal taxes so that he can put a stop to such taxes, ultimately leading the states to repeal the 16th and 17th Amendments to put a permanent stop to such taxes.

The states need to eliminate the unconstitutional middleman, the unconstitutionally big federal government, from "helping" the states to manage their revenues.

Once unconstitutional federal taxes are stopped, then the states will ultimately find new revenues to deal with their elite Democratic and RINO-manufacturd problems instead of regularly having to beg for vote-buying "federal" funding that is arguably stolen state revenues anyway.

In fact, Justice Louis Brandeis had introduced his "laboratories of democracy" metaphor to emphasize the 10th Amendment powers of the states to serve the people.

"[...] a single courageous State may, if its citizens choose, serve as a laboratory; and try novel social and economic experiments without risk to the rest of the country." —Justice Louis Brandeis, Laboratories of Democracy.

In the meanwhile, when Trump-47 finishes draining the swamp by working with the states to surrender state powers that the feds have been stealing from the states back to the states and cleaning up the judiciary, he can spend the rest of his 2nd term on golf course, appropriately symbolic for a peacetime president of the constitutionally limited power federal government imo.

Thanks for posting the reality versus the verbage!

I love and respect this man! He confronts issues that seem untenable and pledges to fix them. He knows it’s a gargantuan task, but he does not shrink from it. His is a solitary voice that understands the need to stop wasting our time, treasure, and resources solving the World’s problems while ignoring our citizens’ and our country’s needs. God Bless President Trump. God speed his re-election.
