You are making the mistake of assuming supporters of Ukraine have been buying into media reports more than you do. You are wrong.
Support for Ukraine doesn’t require buying into any report, or believing they have had rip roaring success against the invaders. Fact is, Russia invaded Ukraine, not the other way around, and Ukraine was and is no threat to Russia, and anything Russia needed to get from Ukraine would be available to it by trade or mutually beneficial negotiation. That Russia chose invasion instead of trade is sufficient to damn Russia, and damn this administration for failing to deter the invasion, and damn Obama for encouraging the invasion by screwing up air defense, etc.
I support American interests. In this case that is helping Ukraine kick Russia and its genocidal Nazi leader out of Europe. This is a rare occasion where moral and economic interest align. Reagan taught conservatives that no people should have to live under the misery and death the Kremlin brings. There are tremendous opportunities for American businesses in Europe after Russian corruption and influence is removed. Hundreds of thousands are already dead. Time for Russians to go home to Moscow and Dear Leader Putin’s regime to be held accountable.
I've never seen a Ukraine supporter make a coherent, objective reason why the U.S. needs to be involved. Ukraine is not a NATO nation.
