Whatever politics are at play with Trump and DeSantis and MSM’s manipulation of the event, the crux of the matter is what you asserted, “...the weaponization of government against political opponents.” This ploy will be used against others to interfere with the election process via lawfare. For the leftists, it only matters that Trump’s name can be used in sentences with impeached, indicted and arrested.
You are correct. But what bothers me almost as much is we’re now being divided more with Trump vs DeSantis. We need to be united because what’s coming our way is so dark we need to be united!
