Who has ever succeeded in banning an ideology? They can be ridiculed out of existence - with effort - but legal bans only make ideologies stronger.
Shaming works. For instance, once upon a time people used to be ashamed to accept charity. Pride in what is virtuous. Shame in what is not. We need to get back to that.
