It didn’t help any that on January 6th, after Trump called on people to stay peaceful, Twitter banned his account, preventing people from seeing his message.

(Twitter banned his account on Wednesday, January 6th, 12 hours later unbanned it, and then two days later rebanned it).
Nobody rioted on account of Trump’s not telling them not to. If they were gonna riot, they would have rioted anyway. If they weren’t, they didn’t. All banning him did was make it possible for the swampees to falsely claim that he incited the riot, because he failed to say anything to stop it, when in fact he did, repeatedly.
