About the time Bush II invaded Iraq I went to a meeting of Businessmen on the northside of Chicago....mostly Devon Ave,... mostly Pakistanis....almost all immigrants.
These immigrants wanted to protest the corruption, extortion, etc in the immigration service. But certain attendees who apparently were not immigrants and owned no business wanted the group of about 50 to focus on Bush and Iraq.
It was really interesting and brought back memories of people in YSA, YPSL and John Birch Society trying to shift the focus to stirring up trouble pre-JFK assassination.
What is even more disturbing is that many good people end up being unwitting tools of the the instigators.
In contrast, the Alinsky organizers I organized with were not at all secretive. The protestors always knew who the organizers were and realized they played a different role than the leaders.
