Good stuff. As good as she was, though, Karen comes in a deep second to Ann Wilson of Heart, greatest female rock singer ever.
I preferred Annie Lennox to Wilson, but that's just me.

I saw Heart when they were on tour in 1976, at Day on the Green with the Eagles who were still touring ‘Hotel California. I had only heard ‘Magic Man’ at that time and they announced ‘Barricuda’ as their new single and proceeded to ‘kill it.’... It was a novelty at that time to have a female lead guitarist. I remember having the impression that they stepped out of one of Jethro Tull’s ‘Olde England’ albums, they were all dressed up like creatures out of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream.’
Nah, too much falsetto ... I prefer Karen Carpenter.
