23 of the 25 countries ahead of the US have something in common (the other two are Japan and South Korea).

It is not that they seek to provide a free education to every single child in the country.

In the actual real world, the amount of innovation that comes from these superior systems in my life is close to zero.

All of them (including Japan and South Korea) have one thing in common: More homogamous societies. In the USA, probably 10% of students can barely understand the language that the test is in.
