Trump Blasts DeSantis in Late-Night Truth Social Post, But Says He Will NOT Call Him ‘Meatball’ Ron

While DeSantis has not formally announced a 2024 presidential campaign, he is currently the only potential contender who has numbers even somewhat close to Trump.

There has been speculation, including from the New York Times, that Trump might switch his nickname for the governor from “Ron DeSanctimonious” to “Meatball Ron,” but Trump said that just isn’t true.

“I will never call Ron DeSanctimonious ‘Meatball’ Ron, as the Fake News is insisting I will,” Trump wrote in the post. “Even though FoxNews killing lightweight Paul Ryan is revered by him, Low Energy Jeb Bush is his hero and always at his side, his beaches and State were closed for long periods of time, his testing, testing, testing for the China Virus didn’t work out too well, and his loyalty skills are really weak, it would be totally inappropriate to use the word ‘meatball’ as a moniker for Ron!”

In another post, Trump said that it is obvious that DeSantis will try to challenge him in the Republican primary.

“All of the Fake News is reporting that I spend large amounts of my time coming up with a good ‘nickname’ for Ron DeSanctimonious, who is obviously going to give the presidential ‘thing’ a shot,” Trump wrote.

Trump also pointed to the fact that he dominating the polls when it comes to hypothetical primary matchups.

I hope that Trump doesn’t let his ego change him from a hero to a villain. That’s what happened to Benedict Arnold; that and a beautiful woman named Peggy Shippen.

When I think of Trump, I often think of Robert Morris.

At the start of the American Revolution, Morris was the richest man in America.

He is often referred to as "The Financier of the American Revolution."

Not because he spent some of his money. No, he spent ALL OF IT.

Not that Trump hasn't made some sacrifices. But Robert Morris is the standard for a rich man.

" ...accuse President Trump..."

Trump's path to victory increasingly relies on winning big in North Dreamland. In WI, we are Trump victims just like PA, GA, etc.

Our sainted ex-Gov Walker wanted his old LT. So did Pence. So Trump didn't.

Disloyal Don's pick for gov here choked, bigly.

Nobody in WI gives a crap about Pence. But our sainted ex-Gov Walker means more to us than Trump ever could.

Ironically, we'd have more Trump-friendly election laws by 2024 if Trump had not Trumped himself here.

There is a piss and moan club, you should join.

Lets get back to the original topic.

Trump did some amazing things under the circumstances. No he is not perfect but he is still in the fight and you are sitting on the sidelines, pissing and moaning.

"Trump did some amazing things ..."

No doubt.

No president in my lifetime has accomplished such a range of great to horrible things.

and yet they founded a nation.

Trump is great is some ways.

He absolutely is not a guy I’d want as a Founding Father.

He’s a BigGovt swamp-feeding guy all the way. Not an individual Freedom guy.

Trump is no thinker. He is a destroyer. Often in a good way. Lately not.

Like his man Fauci? Or Don's Pfizer donors?

You and I both know that had Trump came out against them, he would have been impeached again or something. Sometimes you need to show the people what's going on.

There are 2 kinds of conservative voters.
Maybe more, but 2 here.

Those who talk like that and those who don’t. Those who do, don’t know how it sounds, they are used to it.

Those who don’t, flinch at the rude gall.

Being raised in NY, rich kid... Calling names probably went with the territory.

My son won’t let his sons use words that are strong negatives.. Nor swear. But the oldest one has a coach who does worse.
If anyone ever told Trump to stop, it didn’t work.
He has so much going in favor.. Why jeopardize it.
I am for Trump all the way.
But I flinch when he plays dumb!

Reagan was a far better president than Trump. He passed actual budgets and laws, not CRs and Executive Orders.

I’ve never seen a worse job of following thru on domestic policy, budget reductions, or hiring practices by any administration in my life.

Unfortunately governing requires some amount of diplomacy rather than brashness, ego, and name calling.

He was needed as he was in 2016, a sledge hammer in a China shop. But, his actions during Covid - especially the tracking of people - is nearly as bad as the Patriot Act that Bush pushed thru after 911. Essentially handing the nation over to Fauci, Birx, and Pence was ludicrous at best, as was the handling of BLM/Antifa. Post election fraud team was a mashup of the Keystone Cops and a fully packed clown car, that still has a $250 million war chest (that I donated to), with ZERO spent.

He did great on foreign policy, reduction of regulations, and taxation. We were far safer than we are now, but the explosive budgets and Covid stimulus payments started the financial/inflationary path we are currently on (with Biden throwing gas in the fire).

Substance is what we need now, not showmanship. The 5D chess bullshit is just another Q Ball fantasy.

We need a primary, not a coronation.

Running against Trump in the first place was a mistake. Trump was forced out.. He had unfinished business yet to do. And DeSantis comes out and ‘running against Trump’.. Does that please Trump? No.

Reagan was a far better president than Trump.

Reagan did not have half the GOP and various bureaucrats fighting him every step of the way, and impeaching him twice over stuff that Presidents routinely do every day.
