JUST IN: George Soros and Klaus Schwab have both pulled out of the 2023 WEF Forum in Davos which begins today till the 20th of January.

Also Olaf Scholz of Germany will be the only G-7 leader to attend.

Um, no. A scheduling conflict is when I discover I've scheduled a dentist appointment and a chimney cleaning on the same day. These guys have staffs.

It has been suggested in several different sources that Davos is no longer relevant except as a publicity forum for second-raters such as Greta Thunberg and John Kerry, people preening for cameras but with no particular influence outside of that. While I suspect there's truth in it, it doesn't explain the suddenness of this particular development.

One is left with something more than suspicion. 5000 Swiss soldiers policing the area with thumb-print scanners is an additional development that suggests that something else is up, although is is certainly an accurate representation of the world these luminaries are planning for the rest of us. The one thing that is certain is that Davos has become deservedly notorious.
