We played tackle football without helmets or pads... kind of crazy looking back at it. We were free range where I lived...The day after Thanksgiving was our neighborhood Turkey bowl where we kids would play tackle football. We would use cut up old socks and pad them with foam for shin and arm protection. Fun times!
