Store brand eggs are $10 a dozen here.

Due to the dog’s cancer vet bills, we’re eating very little as we that is all we can afford.

If it weren’t for the “gas points” the grocery store offers, we’d be walking everywhere, as well.

I’m to the point of trying to sell my motorcycle just so we can survive.

It’s the last thing I have of value, not already sold off to survive.

FJB.

Don’t know what state you live in

In Georgia (where the companies produce the Tap with factories running 24/7) the shortage happened exactly as I described

People panicked and wiped out store shelves of Tap and Kleenex. Production could not keep up. Took a month and a half for everything to settle down

Dead hens. Bird flu.

Funny, I lived nearly 60 years before this ever became a problem.

We now just lurch from one crisis to another.

Makes one wonder if there are too many people to feed doesn’t it?

I don't want to argue but I was in Oregon.

about 2 weeks in retailers were saying they weren't getting shipments, and didnt see the panic buying that caused it until another small shipment came in after the shortage hit the social media sites No one I know or questioned knows anyone who horded or saw anyone hoarding TP, the shelves just naturally cleaned out.

I only became aware of the shortage because the internet was flooded with memes about people panic buying TP

truck drivers were saying warehouses were full of TP but they weren't loading out

Plants were running or still stinking at least.

leads me to believe that the supply chain was interrupted midway between factory and FINAL distribution warehouses.

but then again , I am crazy so none of that could be true. But it could have been a trial test to see if it is possible to manipulate supply without suspicion of foul play

And that’s the difference between Oregon and Georgia

Eggs are about $5 a dozen here (Minneapolis metro area) and have been at this price since at least November. Beef and chicken prices are up at least 20% in the last year. Paper products like napkins, facial tissue and paper towels are up about 30% over last year. I also see empty shelves at my local grocery. I expect things will only get worse with another year of Biden.

Eggs are $7.00/dozen where I live. Many freepers have been talking about the skyrocketing prices.

I’m in the same boat, jimjohn

Four hens but I’m worried about the cost of feed. Didn’t they say corn was gonna be scarce in 2023 due to fertilizer shortages? And I don’t have enough garden space to grow corn even using my “free” fertilizer.

I was stunned with the results of powdered eggs. They scramble up pretty nicely. They are great if you need to brush a little on pastry, or bake with them. Don’t rule out using them if you can’t find fresh eggs.

I live in southern Maryland. Everything is substantially higher (even potatoes). When I go to the local supermarket for the dog and I, I can’t get away for less than $100.
