The best part is the use of data from France. For those unfamiliar, the French really don't embrace artificial sweeteners, the stuff isn't part of their food culture. It's not available in restaurants, though they will bring sugar cubes or honey to the table.

I'm sure that some diabetics use the stuff there, but France may be the worst "first world" country in which to seek problems caused by sugar substitutes.
