I don’t pretend to know who will emerge from that field you listed. My point is that there are alternatives to Trump, and blind allegiance to one man is dangerous. Especially one with his track record. Unlike Washington, who continually asked to relinquish his power, Trump continually seeks it.
Awww...izz your little feelings hurted? I've never seen your handle around. Since 1998.
A downside for Trump is poor judgement in a choice of political “friends”. These “friends” are not conservative and certainly not loyal.
I would like to hear his explanation, too.
I wasn’t challenging you, but not having heard her speech, I really did not know if she said anything wacky. Lauren’s speeches have always been sound and rational. That is why I contributed.
Unlike Washington, who continually asked to relinquish his power, Trump continually seeks it.
Trump continually seems it? You must not have been paying attention through his term where he would tell governors to step up and do their jobs instead of the federal government doing everything.
You must not have been paying attention during the vaccine distribution when he said that the shots will be given to each state and the Governors would handle distribution because “they know what works in their state”, only to see many of them cry foul because they didn’t want that responsibility.
And now you’re comparing George Washington(I assume), when they actually were Citizen-Statesman, to what we have now? WOW!!!!
You can think and say what you want, but Pres Trump is the only person that tried to expose what’s been going on for decades. He was just getting started and they got rod of him.
As for “blind allegiance” to one man, give me an alternative? It isn’t allegiance to one man, with Pres Trump. It’s allegiance to what he did. Things that haven’t been done in this country for decades, look out for everyone instead of special interests and donors.
I think Boebert was right here, first MTG went off the rails on a few things and she got called out, too bad. 2nd, Boebert wants a discussion about McCarthy, and so do I. What is he promising conservtives???? We don’t need another RINO speaker, we just don’t.
What has Pompeo done to convince you he's a RINO?
What has Pompeo done to convince you he's a RINO?
Lots of lurkers on FR... Nov. 3rd, 1998, election night in Illinois.
Two unimportant wackos feuding.
Some of his recent statements and the fact that he’s slithering around trying to drum up support for his future run for the White House in 2024.
Does he have to be subservient to Pres Trump? Absolutely not. No one does.
Does he owe his ‘name recognition/status’ to Pres Trump? Absolutely, otherwise he’d be another name in Congress, that most people couldn’t pick out of a lineup from a state that most people couldn’t locate in a map.
I would like to add, being the realist that I am, that the chance of any Republican Presidential candidate winning the 2024 election is damn near impossible. I don’t care who’s running.
The Democrats have complete control of over 260 Electoral College votes, due to the fraud mechanisms that have been codified into election law throughout the country, and I don’t think that can be overcome.
That’s why they need to destroy trump. He beat their system.

I think you can see all the speakers of AMFEST on Real America’s Voice.

Her section starts around the 1:53 mark.
Reaganisn was often defined as a three legged stool:
Trump systematically tore down the first two of these.
He made fun of McCain, the sacred symbol of the Cold War. He called Jeb out on the failure of his brothers wars, he mused about leaving NATO. He seemed smitten with generals, but then they all betrayed him publicly.
He was against the "free trade" regime. Promised to veto the TTP (which as a sign of the inversion some Dems supported). He didn't seem at war with the welfare state, and rejected the whole Reason Magazine economic program.
he didn't claim to be a Christian conservative. Unlike Bush and many other GOP candidates who tried to run on culture war issues. Although this leg was not forcibly torn down like the other two, just ignored. His stance on gays is a good example of that.
As a result Reagan was not invoked regularly in the campaign.
As it turned out the base had moved beyond the old formulaic Reagan conservatism already. Other candidates who ran on it seemed brittle and old fashioned: Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina pitching trade agreements, Huckabee doing his Christian preacher culture warrior, Rubio the foreign policy expert and war hawk. They were stuck with outdated positions and Trump decimated them.
Still, what he didn't do is replace the three-legged stool with anything as clear, well defined or agreed upon.
It's easy to notice reading a lot of threads on Free Republic. (Start with the Ukraine ones, they most clearly demonstrate the lack of consensus on conservative axioms and positions among putative comservatives)
You are the one with TrumpDerangement Syndrome, sir.
Type II. Those who act like Trump is a god who never does anything wrong. Can’t even acknowledge when he does RINO stuff like having RINO friends and picks.
Some of us can acknowledge what Trump is right about, and what he does well, etc.
What recent statements make him a RINO? Because otherwise, it sounds to me like you're so committed to Trump that the act of challenging him for the nomination alone is enough to make someone a RINO.
Seriously, are Trump’s enemies within the Republican Party the “GOPe” or “RINOs”? How can you be a party’s “establishment” yet at the same time be associated with that party “in name only”?
I wonder if some of these people understand what a political party is.
