I have lived in Floria my entire life, I’ve voted in every election since 1978.

Here in Florida the so called “vote by mail” is called Absentee voting by many Floridians.

The major difference in the way Florida does it is, you must personally request a ballot, prove who you are, and your signature is verified, then you will get a ballot that can be filled out and returned.

In other vote by mail states, every registered voter gets sent a ballot, no request by the voter is required.

The way Florida does it is vastly different than true vote by mail states and eliminates nearly all of the fraud.

If you wanted to cheat, you would have to fill out a form, verify your identity and signature, assuming you can do all that, think of how difficult it would be to create enough ballots to change an election in a state the size of Florida.

Should be properly called "absentee ballots" rather than mail-in ballots.

Georgia's former (pre-pandemic) system for absentee ballots was very similar. I used it when I was away at college because I had no interest in voting in NJ.

You applied by affidavit with proof of identity. I went in in person when I was home on vacation, but I believe they had a system for overseas military and shut-ins.

I have voted in every election since 1974, including by absentee. The very first time I ever had any trouble was 2020. Because of the pandemic I applied for a mail-in ballot "just in case". It never arrived, and when I went to vote in person I was told I had already voted. Nope. Had to swear out an affidavit - and the elections supervisor said they would compare the signature w/ the mail-in ballot. But I don't see how they had any prayer of finding it. At best I cancelled out the fraudulent vote.
