Trump could have keep his mocking of DeSantis in the pocket at least until after 8 November. He got no respect from me for his poor timing. And not the first time. And yes, he is dug deep into the hole created by his advisor Fauci and Big Pharma on the beautiful vaxx. The only redemption there “ well, at least he’s not a democrat”

^^^ This. To pick a fight with a popular, solidly conservative ally like RD is the kind of shoot-yourself-in-the-foot action that makes even Trump supporters like me cringe.
Scratching my head at this unforced error. Obviously, I’d expect Trump to lash out at RD if they were formally competing for the GOP nomination. But they’re not. Yet, anyway.
There was no reason to open that fight while they are not actually in opposition.
