"Dumb question: Did the Pelosi house have an alarm system?" Not really a dumb question. They probably have a state of the art system and the police would have requested to review any recordings by now.
The absence of guards might simply be that they felt safe enough without them. On the other hand, the absence of guards eliminates possible witnesses to things the Pelosi's want to keep secret.
