You are not the only one complaining about that. I was at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania last weekend and one of the women in front of me said the exact same thing. Since we were waiting in line for hours, I borrowed her iPhone and deleted the app completely and then rebooted the phone. I went to to the App store and downloaded the latest version of Truth Social. We went through the verification process again and it worked like a charm. We entered her birthdate and email address and she got an email that we confirmed and once she entered a valid password and unique username (different than the one she originally tried with), she was in!

I don’t have an iphone, but was trying to get on just through my computer. I registered way back when they first gave us the chance, but then I was never able to get on. I even changed my email to a proton account to try again....no luck. I just gave up.
