RIP.
The best. Still remember Chris Carter from the X-Files intentionally taking his name for character Agent Scully because he’s a great fan of VS.
Los Angeles sports had to great Announcers but Scully was in a league by himself
Classy guy and my favorite baseball play-by-play announcer ever.
Scully also told a friend of my dad that life on the road as a baseball announcer was damn boring.
One of Vin Scully’s classic broadcasts with Gibson’s World Series at bat in 1988.

Never a Dodger fan, but credit where it’s due - he was the best.
baseball ON radio in Mexico.....
He’s in heaven with chick Hearn..greatness in heaven with greatness they both have the best seat in the house
Very sad and very shocked.
Absolutely, Sarah. I loved him as well. BEST sports announcer ever. Vin Scully was a class act, and he loved America.
Got very close to him once in Fenway Park a few years ago, but unfortunately I wasn't able to shake his hand.
Rest in Peace, Vin.
I use to live a few miles from the KFI transmitter and the telephone wires in my apartment building used to pick up the signal and occasionally tripped my answering machine recording what was on
Ironically the 1st time I ever heard Rush Limbaugh was on my answering machine for 2 hours
Interesting... I never knew that.
Me too
Amen....agree 100%.
RIP to a truly great American.

Vin Scully was a storyteller, and nobody ever told the story of baseball better. He called games with such elegance and grace. He spoke only when necessary, allowing the broadcast to breathe when it demanded. He made baseball a more beautiful game. RIP.
Legend
RIP Vinnie
Grew up listening to his voice..my dad would turn off the TV sound to listen to Vin only..same with Chick Hearn, Lakers.
Our family would all be watching game on tv but listening to this little transistor radio lol
Good times
Damn. Vin sounded so strong when I heard him recently. I thought he’d make 100. Thanks for all the memories, Vin!
