The country was in such dire shape in 2016 that we elected Trump because he was the blunt object we needed to smash the establishment. The establishment fought back and stooped to depths that even I didn’t think they would to defend their turf, but Trump still accomplished a tremendous amount in the face of constant attack. Things have gotten exponentially worse since then to the point where we will need not a blunt object but a hydrogen bomb to do what’s needed in 2024.
We are in a mostly, but not entirely, cold civil war right now, and abrasiveness and boldness are essential assets in a leader at this time. Desantis is great, but I’m not sure he can be the George S Patton that we need right now. Plus, we need him in Florida. Also, don’t forget that no other candidate on the right has popularity that crosses political lines to the extent that Trump does. Despite the nonsense spouted for years by the Republican establishment, only Trump has succeeded in creating a “big tent” by expanding the appeal of the party. That’s because of Trump’s bluntness and especially because he’s not ideological. He’s just practical, which isn’t as threatening to potential crossover dems.
Let Trump come in and fight nuclear political war with the left and the RINOs. Desantis would be perfect to come in after that to “win the peace.”
Well said. Thanks.
“ love Desantis as we all do, but if you think he’ll have an easier time enacting his agenda as President than Trump will you’re fooling yourself. “
I know this much: Desantis is a serious adult who is organized and disciplined, and he doesn’t waste his valuable time on childish tweeting. So yes, I think he’ll start out with major advantages over the disorganized, unfocused, time-wastingTrump. As far as I can tell, Desantis hasn’t hired a single aide or division chief who wasn’t talented and loyal to his agenda. In contrast, Trump hired backstabbedrs by the bucketload. So yes, Desantis will have a stronger shot at enacting his agenda, as president, than Trump had by FOOLISHLY surrounding himself with people who hated his agenda.
