Hey Joe, whoever the hell you are, you don’t get to talk on the behalf of US conservatives. Not your circus, not your monkeys.

I’m reading the Russia is so short of munitions that 40-year-old S300 anti-aircraft missiles are being re-purposed for surface-to-surface bombardment.

Where are you reading this?

If you're reading this in any mainstream Western news outlet, there's about a ninety percent chance that it's complete bullsh*t.

Russia has no shortage of artillery shells. Massed firepower and heavy artillery is the cornerstone of Russian military doctrine.

France did much more than sending money and weapons. Their navy and army were crucial in defeating the British at Yorktown, assuring American independence. Spain and Holland were also actively allied against Britain. The question arises: would France and the others have helped the U.S. if there were nuclear weapons in the 18th Century? Also, multiple Western failures against Russia are another consideration.

You might have heard that in America we had the civil war which killed more Americans than other wars. Good thing France supported us in the American Revolutionary War or you would be posting as a British citizen.

One American civil war and some tepid help from France against yet another imperial colonialist European power (the British), does not even come close to the literally thousands of wars Europeans have had against each other in history, or the Trillions spent by America plus tens of thousands of American lives to rescue the Europeans in WW I and WW II and after.
You wanna try again?

We also won those wars and made many more trillions than if we had lost.

They were not our wars. Our war in WW II was with the Japanese who attacked Pearl Harbor. We made even “more trillions” did we?
Just how did we manage to do that when the Europeans used every trick in the book to erect tare barriers against US exports the moment they got back on their feet with the help of even more US money in the form of Marshal Aid? When are you guys going to start spending your own money to fix your messes for a change?

You are lost in details that don't look at the big picture, would be British citizen SmokingJoe.

“Big picture” huh?
The big picture of big German trade surpluses with America and European trade barriers against American exports “big picture”?

Now you're posting propaganda directly from NPR? You should be tossed off Freerepublic immediately.

Anyone that gets their information from non-globalist sources, knows that missile struck the military barracks of the Ukranian 72nd mech. Brigade.

Putin attacking Ukraine, rocket-bombing its population centers, committing various other massacres and atrocities, and grabbing its territory is a colossal WAR CRIME (or series of war crimes) and should be viewed as such by all civilized nations.

You are going to need to read some history about some of the nasty, terrible wars waged by Ukraine on other countries through their history.
Wars involving the slaughter of each other's populations are nothing new in Europe. Europeans have been slaughtering each other in all kids of wars for as long as I can remember. You screaming about Russian "war crimes" does not change history or change the fact that the current Ukraine regime is carrying out most of the "war crimes" in this war.

President Trump supported Ukraine and sent them Javelin missiles. President Trump supported Poland who have been Ukraine’s biggest ally in their fight against Russian invasion. There is nothing conservative about being a useful idiot for mass murdering Kremlin filth. Spouting off like Noam Chomsky is rather pathetic, really.

Russia is so “short of munitions” that they are supplying Syria and plenty of other countries with massive amounts of munitions?
Chuckle.

President Trump sent weapons to Ukraine long before the woke, sleazy corrupt Zelensky took over, and long before the Russian invasion.
And the weapons were to PREVENT a war with Russia, not start one.

You'd much rather shill for the corrupt, sleazy, war crimes committing Zelensky then will you?

Putin has made his country into an international pariah. If Putin were to be deposed or assassinated by Freedom Fighters tomorrow, and replaced with someone with a sense of decency, who was willing to talk about reparations on the order of $900 billion to rebuild Ukraine, Russia might get back on track to being seen as anything but a bandit state in about ten years.

Actually, Russia is doing great from Dementia Joe's “sanctions”.
The Ruble is as strong as ever, oil and natural gas prices are rocking and Russia is making a fortune from exports of these commodities despite sanctions.
I am sure Putin is still laughing at Dementia Joe's cluelessness and sheer stupidity.
Chuckle.

Please don't leave out Dementia Joe's confident promise to reduce the Ruble to rubble.
Instead, the Russian Ruble is now stringer than ever on strong Russian exports of oil and natural gas to Asian markets and Putin is laughing all the way to the bank.

"Ukrainians are defending their country and US conservatives including Trump support them."

You do know that Ukraine was in on the cool against our present, right? Does the name Colonel Vindman mean anything to you?

As far as I am concerned the Ukraine is getting everything that it deserves.

How is taking cold showers in the dark treating the both of you?

If Russia was even close to losing this war the Russian natural gas would not still be flowing to keep the lights on for Eurotrash idiots.

“ sanctions will continue to leave the Russian Federation basically unscathed and just collecting ever-larger revenues – due to higher induced prices — for smaller volumes of exports delivered”

The Price has stopped going up, but volume continues to drop.

The short term adjustment was just short term. The long term adjustment is that Russia loses the European gas market that it took them a half century to build, and becomes a pariah for investment or trade - except for China, which will own them like they do North Korea.

After China appoints their next vassal after Putin, and puts in pipelines to drain off all the oil and gas it wants, the last remaining opportunity for regular Russians will be to send their girls out to service Chinese men

We are talking about the Russian invasion of Ukraine that you say is a mistake.

Am I detecting in this thread a shift with Putin Stooges now claiming they are against Putin's invasion?

Billions spent in stopping Putin in Ukraine saves money and lives down the road.

If you believe we should do anything for or against the Russian invasion of the Ukraine, you are wrong.

We have no dog in that hunt.

And furthermore, so called Cold War "proxy wars" were extensibly between two other parties with unacknowledged backing from super powers, not between one Super Power and one of their former proteges with our direct support against the other Super Power.

Some people are just nuts!
