Message to the wokies: Be careful what you wish for. You might get it.
Ya get one, better choose wisely.
And those dependable and good (boring) men are usually the one's that pay long and hard, while she finds herself with some exciting loser because she needs "chemistry".
A man promises at the altar that any children born of his wife’s body will be his children.
There is no equivalent promise in the back seat of a car.
I see them posting on Tik Tok. Like, they will post one kid and the text reads, "baby Daddy #1.
Show another kid and the text will read, "Baby Daddy #2". Etc.
No shame.
Honestly, that partially falls on the guy. If you are messing with a chick with other baby daddies (unless widowed, etc) yo need your head examined.
1) Then be ready to PROVE you are the mother - with testimony, hospital bills, witness AND DNA you ARE the mother,
2) Prove that you actually incurred costs for the claimed pregnancy, and
3) Prove by DNA that the person you’re suing is actually the ‘father’.
If you impregnate a woman and she gives birth, you are responsible for child support. She obviously should contribute as well. At all points in the transaction you had a choice. You could choose to have sex with the woman or not. Once you decided to have sexual relations, you could have employed contraception. You could have insisted that take similar protections.
It has nothing to do with the courts. It has only to do with behaving ethically, morally and responsibly. But apparently such basic decency and common sense is like quantum mechanics for some people.
Hasn’t this always been true? Do we need another law?
It has just been easier to let the Govt be the Dad..
It’s not about punishment or ephemeral concepts like “love”. It’s about acting responsibly and taking responsibility for one’s actions. Often, people scoot on those responsibilities and those people should be brought to account by any means necessary.
Exactly.
Even if they are the result of cheating.
Hasn’t this always been true? Do we need another law?
AS I said, we already have laws, take it to civil court, we don’t need to make criminal law.
They already have that power - it’s called child support.
Seriously, though, can the man sue the woman for lying about birth control pills, or failure thereof?
It takes two. A woman and a man. BOTH are responsible. (Although the woman has more committed to the cause, admittedly.)
