These liberal fascists aren't used to getting pushback, much less counterattack -- DeSantis and the Florida legislature have been doing stellar work in this regard.

The strategy is give no ground and press on with the counteroffensive. It's a great thing to behold.

I’m typically leery of laws forcing corporations not receiving government funds to ban things, but in this case, DeSantis is apparently banning them from telling grotesque lies to their employees, so I guess I’m OK with that. :-)

I’m also OK with him banning companies from requiring vaccine passports (2021), since that would be the start of a Red Chinese-style social credit system, just like ESG on the corporate level.

In essential part, the official Florida House Bill Analysis of the final version of House Bill 7 is as follows:

The bill provides that it is discrimination based on race, color, sex, or national origin under the Florida Civil Rights Act to subject a person, as a condition of employment, membership, certification, licensing, credentialing, or passing an examination, to training, instruction, or any other required activity that espouses, promotes, advances, inculcates, or compels such individual to believe certain specified concepts, including that:

-- An individual, by virtue of his or her race, color, sex, or national origin, bears personal responsibility for and must feel guilt, anguish, or other forms of psychological distress because of actions, in which the individual played no part, committed in the past by other members of the same race, color, sex, or national origin.

-- An individual’s moral character or status as either privileged or oppressed is necessarily determined by his or her race, color, sex, or national origin.

Similarly, the bill provides that it is discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, or sex under the Florida Education Code to subject a student or employee to training or instruction that espouses, promotes, advances, inculcates, or compels such student or employee to believe the specified concepts.

The bill also:

-- Requires that instruction on required topics in grades K-12 and all supporting materials be consistent with specified principles of individual freedom.

-- Prohibits state instructional materials reviewers from recommending materials that contradict the principles of individual freedom.

-- Requires the Florida Department of Education to develop standards and curriculum relating to the history and contributions of Americans of the African diaspora.

-- Requires the State Board of Education to develop or adopt a “Stories of Inspiration” curriculum.

-- Specifies required topics for instruction in health education, life skills, and civic and character education.

Yes, as you might suspect, the Democrats in the Florida Legislature almost entirely voted against the bill.
