Urgent news. Today at 22.47 a car was blown up on Mikhail Grushevsky Street in Kyiv. The driver and two passengers were killed. Experts are working on the spot, the identity of the dead is being established. According to unconfirmed information, Valery Zaluzhny was in the car along with his deputy and the driver.

If this actually happened, it could be for any number of reasons. Stuff like this was going on in Ukraine well *before* the war (car bombs, grenades thrown into cars, assassinations by various means). It used to happen a lot in the 90s in Russia, too, back during the mafia wars when the oligarchs were jockeying for power.
