Registration, carry permits, background checks to purchase ammo, etc.
The entire idea of a background check is unconstitutional when reading the Pennsylvania constitution. It is stronger than the 2nd amendment’s ‘shall not infringe’. PA’s constitution reads, ‘shall not question.’ That doesn’t mean a thing to the Democrat majority State Supreme Court.
Wasn’t there a law suit concerning the state collecting this info. If I remember correctly the state AG testified that they will keep the info secure and have processes in place to prevent unauthorized access or mistaken release of the records. The court bought the assurances and dismissed the suit, but now, with the Bruen decision recently released by the USSC and the AG declaring that he will fight the decision and find work-arounds, the names of license holders are “accidently released”. Not credible. This was purposeful and should result in a major, class action, suit against the AG. Unfortunately that will not protect those who have now been doxxed from being targeted by anti-gun activist.
I live in a state that has no registration, conceal carry permits, background checks for private purchase, and no background checks for the purchase of ammo.
Plus, we have Constitutional Carry.
Apparently CA has a “firearms safety certificate” also, required to purchase a gun. (You need to take a class first, evidently, before you can buy a gun or ammo.) According to someone on Reddit, they also published the names of all the people with that certificate.
