More likely, as someone pointed out upthread, he’s a Fed agent provocateur.
Whoever it is they clearly didn’t think things through, because rural voters don’t have the numbers to swing elections, they also tend to not have a ton of time on their hands for naval-gazing as many are farmers whose day starts at 5:00 A.M. or so.
