It’s not clear in this vid, but in other vids the guy was obviously wearing gloves and if wearing them at this time, would not have been able to operate a smart phone, so it’d have to be a flip unless it’s something else like part of an arming mechanism.
Pics of the bomb itself only show a spring type kitchen timer with a paper clip, which would have done absolutely nothing without some other power source not seen in pics.
Also the “bombs” were planted so as to be EASILY discoverable.
