Follow the protocols and procedures to the letter, don’t deviate one bit, no hero bs, that’s how you survive in that job, because one mistake, one lapse of judgement and the mob will destroy your life and threaten your family.
I’m not a fan of law enforcement, and I don’t even really like most laws, but I can put myself in the officers’ shoes.
It’s just a job, one where you try to progress and collect a check. I can’t imagine there are many left with any idealizations regarding the position.
I don’t know what the protocols and procedures are for this force, but I bet that explains it.
Rules, protocols, procedures, micromanagement. Automatons.
That’s why when the crap hits the fan, and it’s not worth the check, they will go home.
The fish stinks from the head down, the system is corrupt from top to bottom.
Never admit you are wrong, just don’t let them catch you breaking the rules, where you can shade and bend the rules to benefit yourself, that’s what smart people do.
Service, integrity, values, that’s all happy talk to wrap around your self serving agenda, empty shells stolen from a past culture used to put pretty colors and pleasant smells on brutish aspirations.
Ideals aren’t real anymore. Power and money is real, and maybe not even money, just power.
Character now means following the rules. Man is God, therefore, the State is God. No one is teaching any different.
That’s the post modern, materialistic world and it’s product is madness and chaos. If people don’t like it, they need to find something to believe in other than themselves.
Well some of those cops mustered the courage to get THEIR OWN kids out.

Who wants to be a cop anymore, seriously? I suspect for many cop is the only job they could get.
