If the choice is freezing to death in your house or living in your car with your family in a warmer place I think the answer is clear.

I don’t know, but it seems to me that unable to afford heating oil would be a show-stopper in the Northeast.

I’m planning as best as can. I have oil heat. All fuels will be up. Considering propane tanks as backup, even if only to run a fireplace.

We will likely be living in a travel trailer next winter up in the mountains while our new house is being built. Maybe it will end up being a blessing.

I can predict a home heating crisis in the Northeast and other cold regions. Fuel is almost unaffordable at these levels, wait until they double, again. I'll put up lots of wood this Summer.
