"Unfortunately, I think Elon Musk is looking for a way out of this purchase. Twitter will be the same as it ever was."

Not if, along the way, he exposes that 50% of the users are bots. It would be as if he had flown over Twitter HQ and dropped a nuke.

Frankly, I was surprised he wanted to get entangled in that mess and have it drain away all his energy and ability to do anything else. The Bureaucrats and NGOs can tie him into knots for years.

I think that’s why he hoped to take it private as quickly as possible. He doesn’t have the temperament to be disciplined enough for running such company when under SEC supervision.

I don’t understand what this means? Is he saying that 90% of interactions may be with bots?

I don’t know about 90%, though nothing would surprise me from that leftist cesspool, but I suspect it’s a high number. When Trump was still on Twitter, every tweet he posted would be inundated with hundreds of vile, mocking leftist replies within seconds of him posting it. Supportive replies from conservatives would be waaaaaaay down the list, to the point where they were virtually invisible to the casual viewer. I never saw a single Trump tweet that didn’t exhibit this phenomenon, even when he tweeted at 3:00am. No matter the time, the obvious leftist bot army would immediately flood the replies. Obviously, computers never sleep.

I saw similar things happen to other prominent conservatives, especially if they were MAGA supporters. I can’t wait to hear leftist commentator heads explode when Twitters anti-American, pro-dem fraud is finally revealed.

If the number of user accounts that are fake bot accounts reaches any significant percentage of the total, Twitter stock will be worthless and Elon will be able to buy it with the loose change in his couch cushions.

Advertising basically charges for reaching potential customers. More potential customers view an ad, the higher rate charged for an ad. Since bots and inactive accounts do not purchase anything, then including them in an ad reach is basically fraudulent. That is an issue!

I think another issue is that Twitter’s target market is very internet-savvy people. These people install ad-blocker and don’t even see the ads.

That’s what I have done. I only see ads when I browse on my phone because on my computer they are all removed.

Whether he’s negotiating for a better price or simply exposing Twitter for committing massive fraud, I LOVE the fact that Elon Musk is revealing a significant percentage of their traffic may well be bots.

1. Tap home button. 2. Tap stars on upper right of screen. 3. Select “Latest tweets”.

I've always done that otherwise it will show you 'top tweets' but it's what twitter's algorithm decides is top tweets. Eventually twitter will automatically switch me back from Newest to Top and I'll have to switch it back to Newest. pita

“Unfortunately, I think Elon Musk is looking for a way out of this purchase. Twitter will be the same as it ever was.”

Difficult to say, but I have been giving it quite a bit of thought and think that perhaps he never intended to purchase Twitter. Perhaps his intent was merely to expose it for what it really is and sink it.

He’s definitely one of the most creative minds in business and is worth $230 billion, and from Musk’s point of view maybe exposing Twitter as a fraudulent media platform and destroying the left’s grip on the narrative just might be worth the billion dollar penalty fee he will pay for backing out of the deal. Maybe that was his intention from the very beginning.

Again, difficult to say, but Musk definitely thinks differently than the rest of us.

“there is some chance it might be over 90 percent of daily active users.”

i suspect that what he's saying is that the vast majority of folks don't actively comment, or 'like' posts. They may do one or 2 per day. A single bot that is autoliking 10 different posters could easily swamp the interaction of that one person. I wouldn't be surprised if automated 'interactions' were not 50% or more of the total. 90% would certainly not be out of the realm of possibility.

I agree. I wasn’t charging anyone based on views/fake views.

I was getting results from google(bots) to rank websites.... to have my site rank #1 so more humans saw it and some clicked and bought what ever I was pimping.

If you pay money and don’t get results that make you money, you stop paying money for that advertising.

twitter’s problem is they are not just there to make money, they are there to influence, which, I am not sure is as definable as, I made money from that ad spend or I didn’t.

THey have dirty money paying for influence no matter what the cost. Then they control the narrative on whatever. A product, a political policy, a health policy... portraying it as the majority of “twitter” accounts agree with Dr. Fouchi!

You probably know this, but ad rates are not just valued on views but also action, i.e. purchases. I think twitter’s crap might just be on views, I haven’t looked into it.

You can pay per view(PPV) or pay per action(PPA - filling out a survey), Pay per click(PPC)and I am sure there are more advanced variations since I participated in the game.

It is a mess. I’m glad he is exposing it.

My practice on twitter is to block every outfit that places an ad. I see an ad, I block the sender. I do that 100%, even companies I like.

That on top of local DNS server that redirects a few hundred adservers.

I think that was his plan all along. I also don’t think it will cost him a billion dollars to walk away.
