Ohio was a test case for 2024. The GOP establishment looks screwed.

The conventional view of J.D. Vance’s victory in Ohio’s Senate primary this week was that it demonstrated the power of Donald Trump’s endorsement.

But the election results also delivered something else: an outline of the 2024 GOP primary’s establishment lane, the one expected to be occupied by the likes of Govs. Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas or Larry Hogan of Maryland, former Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey or someone else from the party’s traditionalist wing.

In a crowded contest in which a field of free-spending Republicans competed for the Trump vote, the performance of the one serious contender who distanced himself from the former president proved revealing.

State Sen. Matt Dolan, a conservative who accused Trump of “perpetuat[ing] lies about the outcome” of the 2020 election yet declined to be characterized as a Never Trumper, managed to exceed expectations and rise in the polls. But it wasn’t enough — not for first or even second place.

Still, in finishing third with 23 percent, Dolan managed to provide some clues to the size and composition of a key voting bloc in the next presidential primary — signs that suggest the Herculean task ahead for GOP institutionalists.

“It’s a MAGA-MAGA party,” said former Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh, who unsuccessfully challenged Trump for the Republican presidential nomination in 2020. “Trump’s going to run. But let’s assume he didn’t. You’d have seven to eight MAGA candidates, and maybe you’d have one Larry Hogan or something like that. But they’re not going to get any traction.”

The lesson from Ohio, Walsh said, is that “there’s no room for that, certainly not a winning lane. And if you’re a Trump critic, you won’t even register.”

Pick the exception to the cases, and go with that as the expectation(s).

I’m going with Trump, a winner for certain. He did well as president, and he also won the presidency, TWICE!!! Undeniable, but the cheaters ‘won’.

We the people let the cheaters win.

We’re the boss... it is not debatable.

DeWine won the governor’s primary race handily. Trump didn’t endorse Renacci for some reason. But Vance won the senatorial against a couple of gop establishment types, so there’s that.

By “establishment” I take it they mean the America-hating RINOs. Mittens, Collins, The Eskimo Igloo Queen and Trump hater Cheney.

He did well in the congressional district races. I’m not a Dewhiner fan but Renacci didn’t ignite any passion. I worry about the Kemp race in Georgia, Herchel should win. In PA. down ballot will be maga. I just don’t know about OZ. One loss and the media will make it out that Trump failed.

If Trump runs again in 2024, watch the liberals scream that he is not eligible because he was elected twice already. You know they would say that with a straight face.

Naw, President Trump is already 55-0 this year.

His endorsed candidates would have to lose on a better than 50 % level in order for President's Trump's endorsements to lose their luster.

Democrats have gone way out on a limb.

They have use their media monopoly to making it “uncool” to publicly state your lack of “wokeness”.

But yet we still have a secret ballot - and 99% of people are decidedly “unwoke”in the privacy of their voting booth.

Hardly anyone accepts this nonsense that men should be able to use the ladies’ room, or that boys should be able to take showers with the girls, just because they ‘identify’ as a girl.

And the gender nonsense is only one way the Democrats are marginalizing themselves.

The border nonsense.
The economy, stupid.
The green new deal.
China.
Abortion.
Stolen elections.

Once the insanity of mail-in ballots and drop boxes is sorted, and we go back to voter ID and secret ballot voting in voting booths - the Democrats are going to be totally screwed.

Nobody agrees with them on anything.

The Democrats have a veto proof majority in the Maryland legislature.
Larry can’t really do anything.
All he cares about is maintaining his ranking as one of the more popular governors. He can do nothing but demagogue- he’s sorry the pandemic is ending because vaccines and masks and test kits and infection rates are all he’s got - he ain’t done squat for Maryland in the last 8 years.

Even Pollutico admits the RINO Establishment is toast. It will take a few election cycles to flush most of these turds out of the Republican Party but the MAGA takeover is well underway.

Herschel will win in Georgia. The big question is will MAGA voters show up for Kemp in November.....or will they instead be busy washing their hair that day. I suspect enough of them will opt for the latter to ensure Kemp’s defeat.
