I thought those planes had copilots and autopilot. If he had a heart attack while flying, the copilot could probably land it.

There’s no assurance the co-pilot would make it for the next 12 minutes. Especially if they had the same clotshots. This happened to my Dad many years ago. On a commercial flight stewardess came back and asked if anyone could help with the radio. My Dad said sure and went up. turned out the radio was OK but the pilot was dead. Dad moved him and took his seat. Got briefed on the plane and later the Co-pilot passed out. My Dad, who could drive or operate anything, used help from a tower to bring the plane in.

When the passengers figured out what had happened they passed a hat for Dad. He always claimed he picked up about 20 bucks from the hat.

” ... the copilot could probably land it.”

The copilot normally makes every other landing, so duh yes.

Also the autopilot can make the landing though ONLY after being programmed by the pilot. And then it would stop the aircraft on the runway with the engines running.

Not probably. Co-pilots (first officers) are required to hold the same level of certificate as the pilot in the left seat, specifically an ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) rating, which is the highest rating required to fly large commercial aircraft (B747 etc.) and must be fully qualified to take over the aircraft as the PIC (Pilot in Command).
