I support Ukraine but this crap just pisses me off.

The search engine that claims it’s none of their business ... lied.

I have to ask what kind of creep would even think to do this with a search engine/ browser?

The Ukraine thing is a smokescreen. DDG has de-indexed a handful of sites they feel may cause them some sort of “legal liability” (pirates sites, YT-DL sites, etc). So, in other words, they’re hiding whatever Google doesn’t want them to show you.

Any search engine that didn't do some level of organizing of results, which is by definition ranking, would be worthless for anything but amusement.
