Global warming will halt 2 to 4 centuries from now and become yet another centuries long cooling period. The Modern Warm Period has been going on for two centuries (since the 19th century, that's 1800's to those of you in Rio Linda). The past few warm periods lasted 4 to 6 centuries each (Medieval Warm Period, Roman Warm Period, and Minoan Warm Period).
