Whatever the truth, Russia did not achieve its objectives in three days as many Western experts” predicted and many young men are dying horrific deaths.
It appears the Russian army is now more or less gone from Northwest Kyiv, having exited through the choke point of Ivankiv last night toward Belarus. If there is anything left they are encircled.
The Ukrainians hit them as they passed through Ivankiv, claiming a number of destroyed vehicles and saying the Russians abandoned their dead soldiers.
Locals in Ivankiv:
I expect these numbers to spike in the next couple of days. The Ukrainians are finding a lot of broken and abandoned equipment left behind as Russia retreats.
If they can increase the score to 20@day—the russians would be out of equipment in two months.
I just read on another thread that all those loses are part of the Russian military’s grand master plan. To the “uneducated” the Ukrainian countryside turning into a Russian military junkyard looks like Russia isn’t doing well. But as every “real” military strategist knows, the best way to win a war is to allow your enemy to destroy large amounts of your men and equipment until they are lured into a sense they are winning. Then…and this is the coup de grace…you retreat. In an unorganized fashion and leave even more men and equipment behind as you go. Shear brilliance.
