With the Dems pushing the “Russia, Russia, Russia” and pounding the war drums, this year would have instead been better spend focusing on the actual, real danger China poses to the US national interest. It already has us by the short hairs.

It has become clear that what began as an "information" war against the West, provided by the Communist Chinese and stoked by Leftists from the UK as from elsewhere in the West (especially the media), drove Western governments to mimic what they saw China doing (in a limited way) with lockdowns, and play 'monkey see, monkey do.'
The amplification of fear from the pandemic -- and its 0.076 percent mortality rate drawn from official sources -- has now come full circle, after two years. Communist China's message has come to ordinary Chinese, and as no one can contest, a lockdown is a government action against its own citizens.
Early on in the media frenzy, some physicians were warning that "quarantining the healthy" was a false choice. They were ignored to the economic detriment of whole nations. And as the West locked itself down and gelded its own economies, China benefited. Now the fear porn is spread in China with predictable results. Chinese are panicking. Not from the pandemic, but from government actions.
It should be observed that this is the same structure as the Russian energy, in which all of Europe believed the "green" malarkey, and came to be heavily dependent on Russia even in a time of war.
In both cases, media hysteria and false choices were presented, and the Western Left lapped it all up to the detriment of their own citizens. Now ordinary Chinese worry about food supply and prices, while ordinary Europeans worry about massive inflation in energy prices.
Pretty good game for some profiting behind the scenes....
