You can't export what you can't extract. Note the longstanding nature of this decrease - it's a function of deferred maintenance, botched repairs, and general neglect. Maximum export of crude was 2,243,900 bbl/day in 1998. Chavez was elected in 1999.
What we currently import(ed) from Russia was 245,000 bbl/day (Forbes, 8 Mar 22). One look at this chart will tell you why Venezuela can't replace it.
Could be a Mrs. Bill Clinton type true statement since Venezuela told him to pound sand already so it's no longer "an active conversation".
But I hope the press doesn't let Biden and Psaki get away from acknowledging that a delegation was sent to be Venezuela to beg for oil.
If that wasn't the purpose of the delegation, then what was the purpose of the delegation?
I do remember a Citgo representative was part of the delegation.
The US sending a let’s be friends delegation?
Tried to kill their President, targeted infrastructure, sent US-AID trucks w/ sabotage materials, annointed a stooge as their President, tried to stage coups, kept medicines, food, & fuel from them. Convinced Bank of England to steal their gold.
And then there is the strange case of Alex Saab, VZ diplomatic envoy who it (reads between the lines of US version) seems was kidnapped, arrested after he funneled 350 million dollars to our DEA in what seems was a protection racket.
Not the US version on Saab, but I don’t believe the US/ Reuters version.
Nobody respects a potato as President.
I shouldn’t laugh because of the pain the chomo is causing but damn.
