Read the quote from the author. I used his words.

The Rhineland was part of Germany in 1936, only it was demilitarized—Germany was not allowed to station military forces there. But after getting away with moving troops into the area, Hitler could now fortify the border with France, and he did so, building the Westwall, a series of concrete bunkers and fortifications. This would allow Hitler to hold off any French military response as he moved on Austria, Czechoslovakia, Lithuania, etc.

“If a leader wants to help Europe you don’t murder and invade innocent and sovereign nations.

But heck, FR has become a bastion of Putin bootlickers.
Maybe JR needs to clean house.”

Nope, you are completely off base. I don’t like Putin at all. Get off your high horse.

Hey genius. Our own government is a greater danger to our freedom than any other country.

I may have forgotten this part of history. I thought Rhineland was always considered part of Germany, just demilitarized. Hitler did not "take it back" as much as he militarized it.

Now the Alsace is a different story, as that area should have always been part of Germany.

Propaganda does a lot of damage to “well intentioned” people.

All you have to do is look at what Covid did to supposedly reasonable folks.

Same here with Russia invading Ukraine.

It’s going to be funny seeing the meltdowns on this site.

Nice strawman.

The topic is Russia invading Ukraine.

We can talk about Commie Biden destroying our Republic on another thread - GENIUS...

Yeltsin was the only decent leader that Russia has had in the last 100 years.

He may had a good heart but he was drunk and incompetent. He was great when he lead the Russians uprising to overthrow the Soviet Union. That was his moment.

Putin is an oligarch who believes he can restore the USSR or, if you will, the Tsarist Empire.

I think he views himself as a Russian nationalist. He wants to restore the Russian Empire before WWI. He missed the prestige of the Soviet Union but not communism because it was a failed system. That said, if it works out well in Ukraine. The Baltics will be next. So NATO should put troops there now. Like 50,000 at least. And place nukes there.

Perhaps so, but that doesn’t change the fact that you are sick.

No worries, I’ll avoid your threads in the future.

I also assert that the historical relationship between Russia and Ukraine is much like that of Britain and Ireland

Both peoples primarily speak the same language, although minority do speak the native language (Ukrainian, Gaelic)

Ukrainians had the Holomodor, the Irish had the Potato Famine

Donbass and Luhansk and Crimea, sort of like Ulster.

And the Brits came to Ulster during The Troubles as “Peacekeepers” although they certainly weren’t considered Peacekeepers by a lot of the Catholics.

“Now The End Begins”

Seriously? “Now”? Why didn’t it begin back then?

Total clickbait trash, like all the other OP’s blogs.

Bill Clinton interfered in the Russian elections and cheated to help Yeltsin win.

A fact that wasn’t lost on Putin, when he took power.

True, but it was still in violation of The Versailles Treaty, and Hitler used it to test the resolve of the French.

Oh for Pete’s sake. Putin is a thug, a murderer without conscience or soul. He is not, however, Adolf Hitler. To my way of thinking, the very moment the Hitler comparison is made, the discussion is over.

Putin is evil- that is enough.

A lot of people think like you. We don’t know how many people he’s had jailed, murdered, or killed.

He’s invaded Chechnya, Georgia, Crimea, Eastern Ukraine, now all of Ukraine.

One might say Putin is more evil than Hitler if you count the years he’s been in power.
