In 2020, Nancy Pelosi, sitting behind Donald Trump at his State of the Union Address, showed her contempt for the speech by ripping it up. It was a nauseating display by the Speaker — one that said more about her poor character than about Trump or his address.

I quit paying attention to Powerline years ago. They proved themselves to be simple "up-east" sorts who consider themselves "above" real conservatives.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if President Trump hasn’t torn up some papers. I would be equally unsurprised if Obama and Bush haven’t either. I would be totally surprised if Hillary hasn’t torn up papers, especially during one of her drunken rages.
What surprises me is that two normally rational authors think it’s important enough to write about, unless to comment about Maggie Haberman having to dig this deep to claim Orange Man is bad for doing it.
Paul’s TDS has progressed to the point where it is blatant mental illness. Many PL readers have called for Paul to be kicked off the site. Losing Steve and keeping Paul would be a huge blow to PL.

I only go there for that reason, too. But I will read things from Hayward and Hinderaker when others post them here. Reading Mirengoff’s stuff is like watching a cat hack up a hairball.
I’ve been kicked off the site twice. Two different identities, too. ;-) First time for quoting an article in which profanity was used, the second time for this: “Don’t trust China. China is a-hole.”
Scott does all the chat maintenance and is the one who decides just who gets the boot and who can stay.
Paul Mirengoff clearly suffers from TDS and is a GOPe (GOP Establishment) type who no doubt doesn’t like the smelly deplorables. I also wouldn’t blame Hayward in the least if he ended up throwing a beating at ol’ Paul.
(John is pretty much harmless, IMHO.)
Powerline has the very best political cartoons on Friday or Saturday. I forward many to friends. I don’t have to post there to do that and the beta male at least has a sense of humor.

Nancy maintains an ethos with which I am unfamiliar.
Over 2100 now and notice Paul has not posted since. He is the weakest of the four at powerline.
Steve is posting more frequently than ever, while Paul licks his wounds.
It’s been over a week and Paul has yet to post. He may be toast, embarrassed by Steve.
I notice he is still listed as a contributor. I suspect he is pausing to let the dust settle while planning his return, on his terms.
Still, that was quite the shot across his bow....And we've no idea what John and Scott have said. John and Paul were college roommates, but John and Scott were longtime law partners who started PowerLine.
