I watch a lot of British TV shows and have noticed more and more blacks in them than ever before. I also noticed that just about every police chief, commander, boss, etc., is black more often than not.
Last year when I noticed how much they were portraying black people as successful, talented, brilliant and heroic, the thought occurred to me that this is not necessarily a bad thing. I think it's good for people to have role models to which to aspire. I think the most annoying thing about it is the heavy handedness they have exhibited in making it so ubiquitous as to invite ridicule.
I think to create role models may be their claimed purpose, but I think they are really doing it as a consequence of the political pressure being exhibited in the last couple of years, most of which was motivated for the purpose of getting Trump.
