Voting is not a right. It is a privilege. It requires rules be followed, unlike a right.

The headline is somewhat misleading. This person was placed on probation back in 2015 for forgery, evidence tampering, and related charges. She was charged with violating her probation by being convicted of illegally voting. She lied to the probation agent to obtain some type of certificate or letter affirming that she could vote, which was not true. Judges tend to be much tougher on violations of their probation.

She was on probation for 7 years at the time, and violated that probation, so she'll have to go back to prison because of it. I doubt they'll make her do the 7 years. Article says she plans on appealing, which means she could be right back out in no time. Nobody ever does the time for the actual crime they commit. Too many deals are cut which allows criminals to be back out on the street in no time. And in most Democrat-run big cities, nobody is left in jail awaiting trial anymore. It costs those cities too much money to keep them incarcerated. That's why they have no bail laws, and let them right back out, so they can offend again, and again. It's the innocent law abiding citizen who pays for all of it that usually becomes their next victim.
