I’ve been saying the last couple of years if most of these artists were true to their rock n roll and anti-establishment roots they would have embraced Donald Trump and the fight against the DS but at their core they are fascists. Give me Kid Rock and Ted Nugent any day….
She’s depriving fans of accessing her music on Spotify. What does she really hope to prove or accomplish by doing so? Spotify will get along fine without her and Neil Young.
Agreed. Listen to ‘Last time I saw Richard’ and you will be again impressed at how she tells you a story with words and song and vocal intonation.
I am in the used LP business. Both Joni Mitchell and Neil Young are hot sellers. Joni James and Neil Diamond not so much.

In all my years, I have never owned so much as one of her recordings, in any format, and I never will.
The 60s counter culture is now the same establishment that they hated back then. Will we see a flood of “protest songs” about Biden’s coming war in Ukraine? I doubt it.

I only just recently discovered the identity of Joni Mitchell by name, and did a little research. She was/is a truly gifted artist - but with a f*cked-up personal life (i.e., very bad life decisions).
I still treasure the work of many artists who are in no way an example of how to live a rational, decent life and to whom no one should look for intellectual or moral guidance.
