RNC Sues NYC Over Noncitizen Voting Rights Law: ‘American Elections Should Be Decided By American Citizens’
Daily Wire ^ | January 10, 2022 | Tim Pearce

"The Republican National Committee (RNC) sued New York City on Monday after Mayor Eric Adams (D) declined to block a bill allowing noncitizens to vote in local elections.

Adams allowed the bill to become law on Sunday, granting more than 800,000 noncitizens living in New York City the right to vote in local elections. Both Adams and former Mayor Bill de Blasio declined to use their veto power, which times out 30 days after a bill’s passage, to strike down the bill after the City Council approved it last month. ..."

Fresh off of democRATs giving voting rights to dead people and allowing their own kind to vote more than once in a single election comes the great idea to allow illegal aliens to further erode the Rights of actual Americans. Every illegal vote, of any kind, invalidates / cancels out the vote of a real actual American...and the left know it!

RNC Sues NYC Over Noncitizen Voting Rights Law: ‘American Elections Should Be Decided By American Citizens’

Sincere question: Under the Dem "Noncitizen Voting Rights Law," are non-citizens eligible or even required to serve jury duty?

Regards,

If you say "citizen" then you will be called "racist" and we all know there is absolutely nothing worse than being called a racist, it is a fate worse than death. / sarc

Requirement of the 14th Amendment is proof of citizenship. It’s written right in the Amendment.

Sounds like this is discrimination against noncitzens who don’t reside in USA.

If US citizens can vote absentee, then why not non citizens?

Sure. Why not just have a world-wide popular vote and let China and India decide what government the whole world will have?

should???

ONLY American CITIZENS can vote in FEDERAL elections.

if the states are unable to insure only citizens are voting, that states vote totals should be removed from national results.

period.

The 14th doesn’t apply to state and local elections, only federal.

I tend to think the clause that says that no state or local laws can nullify the Constitution would put an end to that.

The 14th doesn’t apply to state and local elections, only federal.

14th Amendment Section 2

Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice-President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.
The 14th amendment specifically calls out "Executive" (governor, AG, SoS, etc.), "Judicial" (courts), and "Legislature" of a "State."

To me, the loophole is in the limitation of "state." Do city governments count towards "state" or are only the statewide offices covered by the 14th amendment?

I think the 14th amendment was limited to state-level offices, whether intentional or not. Cities don't have "legislatures," even though they do have mayors, city councils, municipal courts, and district attorneys. These are offices that are similar in nature to statewide offices, but "States" are a ratifying party to the Constitution and cities are not (cities are the People collectively assembled).

I'm not saying that cities don't have powers, but the Constitution is a pact between the federal government, the states, and the people-at-large. Cities are sub-units of states.

The polling records of illegal aliens voting is evidence of a felony (being in the country illegally). Destroying such records would be a felony as well. Aiding and abetting illegal aliens is also a felony.

Lock them all up.

Having “non citizens” vote could come back to bite Democrats and liberals in the ass. In NYC many crime victims are non-citizens.

IIRC, sometime before I left NYC in 2002 they were talking about allowing non-citizens to vote in school board elections only. Not sure if it passed.

Multiple winner bullet elections were used in NYC for the Board of Ed. in the 90s. Not sure if that is the same as RCV...I never understood the bullet election system all that well.
