This would probably be a good time to remind everyone that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) refused to endorse Donald Trump for president at the RNC nominating convention back in 2016. We could have ended up with “President Hillary Clinton” because of that petty stunt, but fortunately, support for Trump was way too massive.
Cruz is easy to like for those of us on the right, so it’s always painful to watch when he has one of those “moments” where he figuratively pours gas on himself and lights a match. He had another one this week when delivering a speech in the Senate. Cruz said that the January 6 protests were a “violent terrorist attack,” using the approved talking points of Nancy Pelosi to describe what was actually a mostly peaceful protest.
That speech earned Cruz a trip to the forefront of the world of memes, and this little gem where he’s wearing one of the pink yarn hats from the Women’s March. A violent terrorist attack?
Good grief! Many of the people targeted by the Justice Department since that day are our friends and neighbors. It really was a mostly peaceful protest. Whose side is Ted Cruz on, anyway?

“Let’s not eat our own. He made a mistake and he owned up to it after taking a flaming from Tucker Carlson who did the job other journalist/commentators should be doing. I mean took Cruz to the woodshed.”
Sorry, but it’s not a ‘mistake’, it’s a systemic problem of (rightly or wrongly) appearing to despise his voting base. It’s his job to now show he can ‘grow’ into being a conservative who understands conservative voters. The problem is he keeps going in the wrong direction and it nearly cost us a Senate seat already - and that was BEFORE this screw up and the one before it (flying off to Cancun and then lying about it).
Just keep him in Texas. 😏
Ok Billie Bud...have it your way. Texas goes blue, so will you.
....80 Million voted for Joe....
“Are you serious, Clark?”
Number 3 in your second set is something I have never forgiven Cruz for. I was actually supporting Cruz in the primaries until that moment. I think it was outside Chicago and it was clear that innocent Trump supporters were attacked. Yet Cruz blamed Trump. Cruz is a weasel. I knew it right then.
I just don't understand all the severe annmosity toward Cruz.. When it comes time to vote, he's always (?) been on the right side.. Others, not so much...
>>Just keep him in Texas. 😏<<
Only if you keep Stacy Abrams in GA.
Remember, it was GA and Georgia resident Ruby Freeman that foisted massive election fraud on the rest of the nation. But hey, we forgive you guys.
I’m doing my part. I do not let public education indoctrinate my children.
If you’re trusting in a scholar to vote for to save your entire state while the next generation goes under more and more leftist indoctrination by the millions, you’re kidding yourself.
Why do states and governments go left at the ballot box??? Well, it starts on how voters are influenced at young ages.
Too much money flows into this weasels piggy bank for Ted to lose to a Trump Maga candidate.
“My fear is the leftist will do what leftist do, plant negative comments on various social media platforms over and over pretending to be former Cruz supporters giving up on him.”
Plenty of people, me included*, were already livid at Cruz for being an aloof, out-of-touch, IDIOT for what he did at the convention, for earlier blaming Trump for Jan 6th and other violence, and for jetting off to Cancun while hundreds in his state were literally freezing to death.
*his problem isn’t with leftists, it’s people like me, with nearly 100,000 posts going back 17 years here. Feel free to look back and tell me how my posts are ‘leftist’. But I might add that you’re ‘colorful’ description of Trump might say something about your interests in this.
Absolutely! Even Trump has said some things such as pro Vax comments that I completely disagree with but will not throw him under the bus.
Oh so you are equating Teddy to Democrats. 😆
“Maybe Rep Louie Gohmert should consider running for Senator, rather than TX AG.”
He can do both, since they’re 2 years apart. And perhaps that’s his strategy.
I’m not kidding myself one iota. I am and have been a solid constitutional conservative since I was old enough to vote. A proud God-fearing Texan helping keep the rest of this nation leaning right and hopefully move more conservative.
This is a culture war and the stakes are high. The leftist would love nothing more than for republicans to turn into single issue voters or begin eating each other right before an election.
Don’t think it is beyond these leftist wack jobs to FILL conservative sites with negative comments about Trump, McCarthy, Cruz...you name it in an effort to gain ground.
Be smart, not emotionally driven.
“in early September, 1933 Upton Sinclair walked into the Beverly Hills city hall and changed his voter registration to Democrat. On his desk at home was a nearly complete draft of the platform that he would bring to the California voters, his plan to end poverty in California.”

“EPIC also called for the implementation of California’s first state income tax. The tax was to be progressive, with the wealthiest being taxed at 30%. The plan would also have increased inheritance taxes and instituted a 4% tax on stock transfers. EPIC also included government-provided pensions for the old, disabled, and widowed.”

“He apologized. That’s all the man can do. My fear is the leftist will do what leftist do, plant negative comments on various social media platforms over and over pretending to be former Cruz supporters giving up on him.”
This is a good point. Cruz is a strong voice in the Senate. He made a mistake, he apologized, (albeit weakly) he has been spanked, and now the voters of Texas should forgive him and move on.
Good grief! You’re just trying to be a contrary Mary. Whatever Georgia girl. Do what ya do, hopefully you won’t do any damage to our side.
over and out
“Well put.”
Thanks!
They all are calculating. I wouldn’t trust the whole lot of them further than I could throw them. Even the “good” ones seem to change as soon as they get a whiff of the goodies.
They’re in it for power or something just as important (money? keeping their secret? allowing that pesky “NBC” clause to be ignored?). Constituents don’t matter, the Constitution doesn’t matter, honor & truth don’t matter.
Cruz wanted/wants to be President — he was embarrassed by Trump, and maybe he can’t let it go. So perhaps this was his way to get back in the running with some promises made that he can call on when needed. He mumbles a little apology and then hopes it goes away.
Who knows?
Did he do that fake stutter of his when he spoke?
