A Chinese blockade during this period would force Taiwan to use up most of its reserve resources. Taiwan probably has about a month’s supply of oil and natural gas.” Observers are noting an increase in Chinese (and in some instances along with Russian participants) exercises around Taiwan in addition to the sharp increase in air and naval incursions into the islands defense zones.
