Yale states, “Pfizer-BioNTech was the first COVID-19 vaccine to receive full Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for people ages 16 and older in August 2021.”
This is true; it was branded as Cormirnaty.
The FDA states: Comrinaty and the other product are legally different, as the FDA document I cited says clearly.
The other of the two “products” is still being distributed without the brand label. Given that Comirnaty was “FDA approved” in August, one would expect Cormirnaty-branded product would be being distributed now, or the FDA distinction would be washed away and the Pfizer product be “fully” approved in the legal sense.
As of five months after the FDA August statement, the vials could have been re-branded, relabeled and new shipments with the label clearly showing. This is not the case, and the December FDA statement stands. “Legally distinct.”
Why? To preserve the EUA liability shield is my conclusion. To build confidence in the products, all that would be necessary is to remove the "legally distinct" determination and liability shield. Simple.
Could be done in a day. And isn't.

You cannot go into any drug store and ask for a choice of Pfizer vaccines because there is only one for adults and it is fully approved.
We’re just playing with words now. When the EUA is rescinded, it will be “approved” as a product.
The Pfizer vaccine that you can get now is already fully approved for people over 16 for the 1st two shots. It’s not play. It just is.
